St. Cecilia students, parish families and school staff and teachers took to the Bainbridge High School track Monday for their second annual jog-a-than fundraiser event.

Ninety students ran 1,236 laps in the allotted hour, said St. Cecilia Principal Susan Kilbane — that’s about 309 miles.

“We had parent, grandparent and younger sibling support,” she said.

The event was coordinated, Kilbane added, by parent volunteers, primarily Dianne Shaffer and Kari Riley.

There was a four-way tie for the honor of fastest feet, with seventh-grader Cormac Dunstan, fifth-grader Hugh Ogilive, fourth-grader Finnley Shaffer and fourth-grader Anna Riley all knocking out 24 laps (six miles).
