Roundabout near Woodward Middle School is topic of meeting

Bainbridge Island officials will host a public meeting later this month to talk about the roundabout that is planned for the Sportsman Club Road-New Brooklyn Road intersection.

Representatives from Skillings Connolly, Inc., the design firm that is a consultant on the road improvement project, as well as city staff will talk about the proposed changes and take input from the public. The improvements include a roundabout at the intersection, as well as sidewalks and bike lanes.

The meeting is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18 in the commons at Woodward Middle school.

The initial design of the project is expected to go to the city council for approval, with the final design phase following.

The road improvements are expected to be finished in 2020.
