A bicyclist has the paved trail at Battle Point Park to himself Monday during the peak of this week’s heat wave on Bainbridge Island.

Weather experts say the historical average temperature for Bainbridge on July 16 is 76 degrees. Monday, the thermometer hit a high of 90 degrees on the island.

The weather is expected to return to the mid 70s for the rest of the week.
