HRB announces benefit breakfast

Housing Resources Bainbridge will hold its annual fundraising breakfast in October at Wing Point Country Club.

The breakfast benefit for the island’s housing advocacy nonprofit is planned for 8 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10. Organizers are inviting the community to come celebrate what can be done when Bainbridge works together to make change.

Steven Falk from Lafayette, California will talk about his experiences trying to get housing approved in the San Fransisco Bay Area — and how he wound up the subject of a nationally broadcast NPR radio article. Bainbridge Island School District Superintendent Peter Bang-Knudsen will also share his thoughts on why the affordable housing crisis is negatively impacting the school district.

The breakfast is free, with generous donations encouraged. RSVP by Oct. 7 at www.housingresourcesbi.org or info@housingresourcesbi.org, or by calling the HRB office at 206-842-1909.
