A former Bainbridge Island woman was one of the 59 people killed in Sunday’s mass shooting in Las Vegas, according to the Washington Post.

Carrie Parsons, a 2004 graduate of Bainbridge High, was killed while she was attending the Route 91 Harvest festival on the Las Vegas strip.

A total of 59 people died in the shooting, and more than 500 were injured when a lone gunman opened fire on the concert from the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

Her death was confirmed by her brother, Jeff Parsons, on a Facebook post Tuesday, according to the Post.

Parsons worked as a staffing manager for Ajilon, a staffing and recruitment firm in Seattle, according to her profile on LinkedIn.

Officials at Ajilon did not respond to requests for comment Tuesday from the Review. Parsons has been an employee at Ajilon since January 2014, and previously worked as a staffing manager at Sun Healthcare Group, according to LinkedIn.

She was a 2004 graduate of Bainbridge High School, and played for the Spartans fastpitch softball and volleyball teams. She was awarded a college arts scholarship from Bainbridge Arts & Crafts as a senior at BHS.

After graduating from BHS, she studied at the Art Institute of Seattle and Arizona State University.

While living on Bainbridge, she volunteered for the Rotary Club of Bainbridge Island, and in recent years has also been a volunteer for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Food Lifeline and Northwest Harvest.
