Bainbridge public school students are facing an extended school year.

Blame February’s snow and rough winter weather.

The Bainbridge Island School Board will meet next week to vote on switching the last day of school from Tuesday, June 18 to Friday, June 21.

The Bainbridge Island School District closed schools due to inclement weather on Feb. 4, Feb. 11 and Feb. 12.

Officials noted that snow and ice prevented district buses from safely picking up and taking students to school.

The Bainbridge school board will meet at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, March 14.
