Election forums set for next week

The Bainbridge Island’s American Legion Hall and Wing Point Golf & Countlry Club will be the sites for two election forums next week.

The Legion Hall will feature a debate between U.S. District 1 Rep. Jay Inslee and challenger James Watkins, scheduled from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18.

Two days later, the Chamber of Commerce luncheon will feature at Wing Point will feature candidates for the two 23rd District Pos. 2 state represenative races: Rep. Christine Rolfes vs. James Olsen; and Rep. Sherry Appleton vs. Peter DeBoer.

The forum will also include brief “for or against” positions on the Bainbridge School District initiative and the Kitsap Regional Library levy.
