A crew from SeaLevel Bulkhead Builders works on the Winslow Way Ravine Outfall Project next to Winslow Way Thursday.

The project consists of replacing approximately 100 feet of storm piping near Waypoint Park and installing energy dissipation gabion basket structures and other miscellaneous work, according to the city.

The city first selected Harbor Point Excavating in April to do the work, but the firm notified the city in late June that it would be unable to take on the project due to financial difficulties.

The job then went to the second low bidder on the project, SeaLevel Bulkhead Builders, which was awarded a contract of $193,463 to complete the outfall project.

The installation has prompted the closure of the sidewalk on the south side of Winslow Way near Waypoint Park, and work on the project is expected to continue through November.
