Bainbridge Schools Foundation launch search for new executive director

Bainbridge Schools Foundation will be looking for a new executive director.

Mairead Shutt, the executive director of the nonprofit, announced recently her intention to resign from the organization this summer in order to focus on her three young children.

In order to facilitate an effective transition, Shutt said she will actively participate in preparing for the changeover in the coming months.

“From the moment I walked through the door, I have been inspired by the dedicated and generous donors, volunteers, and board members who support our students and teachers and ensure our schools are strong,” she said. “I feel fortunate to have served in a leadership role in our community. I look forward to supporting BSF as a volunteer, donor and champion in the years ahead.”

Foundation president Sonja Fritts said, “It was a privilege to partner with Mairead and work together to support the goals of the Bainbridge Schools Foundation.”

“The board of directors is deeply grateful to Mairead for her steady leadership, professionalism and insight as we worked to launch innovative programs in our schools, empower educators and support struggling students,” Fritts added.

The foundation “will continue to serve as a leader in our community as we support public education,” she noted.
