Bainbridge ferry delayed after report of assault on M/V Tacoma

A Thursday sailing of the ferry M/V Tacoma was delayed at the Bainbridge dock after an alleged assault was reported aboard the vessel.

According to Washington State Ferries, a minor was allegedly assaulted by an adult male in the galley of the ferry.

The crew aboard the Tacoma notified police, which prompted a response by the Washington State Patrol and the Bainbridge Island Police Department.

The 12:20 p.m. sailing from Bainbridge to Seattle was delayed by 15 minutes.

Details were initially sparse on the incident. Bainbridge Police Chief Jeff Horn said the Washington State Patrol was following up on the reported assault.
