Bainbridge blotter | Woman injured after hitting tree

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

11:17 p.m. A 24-year-old Bainbridge woman suffered a head injury after losing control of her car and striking a tree.

The woman was driving west on Blakely Avenue from NE Country Club Road when she drove onto the shoulder of the road, overcorrected and went across the eastbound lane onto the opposite shoulder and then hit a tree.

She could not remember what happened and was transported to the hospital.

There were no passengers in the car and no additional people involved.

3:40 p.m. A 49-year-old Silverdale man reversed his 2015 Toyota Corolla into the front of a 2006 Audio A8, driven by a Kent man, attempting to avoid traffic.

The Silverdale man was stopped in traffic headed west on Winslow Way near Cave Avenue when he began to back up, hoping to get into the right lane and turn around so as to avoid the stoppage. He did not see the other car turning out of Cave Avenue onto Winslow Way and struck it.

Both vehicles were moved from the collision site to the police department parking lot.

A report was filed.
