Bainbridge blotter | Someone messed with his truck

SUNDAY, APRIL 8

3:10 a.m. A 27-year-old Poulsbo man was arrested for driving under the influence.

The man was stopped for suspicious driving on Highway 305, near West Port Madison Road, after police watched his vehicle swerving and crossing the fog line four times, and the center line two times.

The driver admitted to drinking earlier and performed poorly on field sobriety tests.

Police said the man also smelled strongly of marijuana, and he admitted to smoking a short time prior and that it had an effect on his driving.

He was arrested.

TUESDAY, APRIL 10

8:06 a.m. A traffic emphasis was requested for Fletcher Bay Road, specifically the area between Bucklin Hill Road and High School Road.

10:23 a.m. A 53-year-old Bainbridge Island man called police to report someone had tampered with his truck while parked outside Town & Country in downtown Winslow.

After being the store for about 27 minutes, the man said he returned to find someone had pushed the side mirrors on his truck all the way forward. They had previously been fully extended in the “open” position.

Store officials said the truck was parked in an area not covered by cameras.

The man was unsure if any other damage had been done to his truck, and asked the incident be documented.
