SATURDAY, FEB. 16

1:55 p.m. A 76-year-old Bainbridge man driving a 2015 Ram 1500 struck a parked delivery van while going west on Baker Hill Road near Tangleberry Lane.

The van was stopped on the roadside, delivering a package to a nearby residence, with its flashers on.

The island man later said he fell asleep at the wheel. The delivery driver, who was coming back from dropping off the package when the crash occurred, said the other driver did not appear to brake before the impact.

The Bainbridge man was cited for inattentive driving.
