Bainbridge blotter | Slow down, Bub

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

MONDAY, MAY 21

11:32 a.m. A traffic emphasis patrol was requested for Arrow Point Drive. “People are driving too fast up and down the hill,” the requester said. “It is hard to pull in and out of the driveways and very dangerous for the children walking to and from the bus.”

1:30 p.m. A 67-year-old Bainbridge Island woman came to the police station to report the possible theft of her wallet. She had not been able to locate it since late Thursday night, the woman said, after she used the wallet to make a purchase at an island grocery store.

When she awoke the next day it was missing, she said, fearing it had been stolen and the information within used to steal her identity.

Inside the black leather wallet was about $700 in cash, a driver’s license, vehicle registration, a medical card and a debit card, which she canceled.
