Bainbridge blotter | Rolling with the Rolling Rock

8:55 p.m. A 54-year-old Bainbridge man in a 2005 Volkswagen Touareg who was driving north on Highway 305 hit a guardrail just north of Morgan Road.

Police detected a strong odor of alcohol from the driver. Three cans of Rolling Rock beer were found in the vehicle, and two cans were unopened.

The Washington State Patrol responded to the scene and arrested the driver for DUI.

The driver also told police he had a .40 caliber Glock 27 pistol in the center console of the vehicle. The gun was taken by police for safekeeping.
