Bainbridge blotter | No note, no nothing

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

MONDAY, SEPT. 11

1:37 p.m. Residents of the Wardwell area have requested a traffic emphasis in response to continued speeding. Several residents have offered the use of their driveway for patrol cars and they are requesting “something more” than the speed sign.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 12

10:09 a.m. Police responded to a report of a possible hit-and-run.

A 75-year-old Bainbridge man said someone had run into his 2013 Honda Fit at some point, of which he could not be certain exactly, in the last two or three days.

The car had “either black paint transfer or possibly black rubber tire marks from a tire” on it, police said, and there was a crease in the bumper indicating forceful contact.

When asked if he remembered hitting anything, the driver adamantly insisted he had not, that somebody had struck his car and they did not even “leave a note or anything.”
