Bainbridge blotter | Mystery boat fire

MONDAY, MAY 21

10 a.m. Police responded to a boat fire at Winslow Marina.

The owner of a 30-foot sailboat docked in the marina told police that sometime the night before a fire had started in the cabin of the vessel. There was no evidence of foul play or serious damage.

The fire department found the vessel was attached to dock power and had the propane flow on at the time.

The boat’s owner had been notified by a friend of the fire and was on the scene, along with several witnesses.

The fire department said they would contact an investigator to review the cause of the fire.
