10:03 p.m. Police received a report of a shoplifting in progress at the Safeway. A man in his early 30s wearing an Army green-type jacket was seen filling up a cart and looking around to see if anyone was watching.

The store manager said the Poulsbo Safeway had called to say the same man had shoplifting issues at that store.

An off-duty officer going to the store to get groceries said he had seen a man pushing a shopping cart quickly to a silver SUV. He then sped away at a high rate of speed north on Highway 305.

Surveillance footage showed the man putting several bottles of liquor into a cart, then going to the produce section and walking out of the store. He later reentered the store, retrieved the cart and left.

12:15 p.m. A 45-year-old Bainbridge man reported ongoing problems with a driver who was using an adjacent easement and throwing up mud and debris onto his property as the driver created ruts in the easement.

The man installed a trail cam to find out who was causing the damage, and told police he didn’t want law enforcement action but wanted someone to talk to the driver.

Police traced the license to a Pleasant Beach Drive home, and found the driver was a teenage boy. His mother told an officer she would speak to him and have him stop.
