Bainbridge blotter | It’s always shady in Philadelphia

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 30

12:15 p.m. A Bainbridge woman discovered a pile of mail near Smoland Lane while out for a walk.

The mail was addressed, she said, to her residence, her children’s residence and a nearby family member’s residence.

She found the mail under a covered section near a fire pit in a nearby park, she said. Some of the mail had been burned and there were “marijuana containers” nearby. The mail woman reported the theft to the post office and police.

A report was filed.

FRIDAY, JUNE 1

10:20 a.m. A 30-year-old Bainbridge Island woman reported someone had hacked her Verizon account and ordered a new phone, an Apple iPhone X, which they had sent to Philadelphia.

The cost of the phone was about $1,100.

The woman told Verizon of the fraud, and they told her to file a police report.

Her account was reimbursed for the purchase.
