6:45 p.m. Police responded to a domestic incident.

A 57-year-old Bainbridge Island woman called police to report she’d had a fight with her husband, who she was in the process of divorcing. The woman said her estranged husband had been arrested days before in Silverdale for DUI and had just gotten out of jail. He came to their house and said he was going to gather his things and some furniture, and that he was moving out and would not pay their mortgage anymore. The woman said she was going to call the police and he left.

She said her husband has a crack cocaine addiction and that he had previously been cooking crack cocaine in the back bedroom.

Police told the woman to call when/if her husband came back, that he would be allowed to gather and retrieve things like his clothes and small personal items, but nothing large that might be communal property.
