Bainbridge blotter | Hit-and-run in Winslow

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

SUNDAY, OCT. 28

3:40 p.m. A 37-year-old Silverdale man was the victim of a hit-and-run while driving near the intersection of Highway 305 and Winslow Way.

While stopped at the intersection light, the man said, he began to turn right onto Winslow Way as the light turned green, but then stopped to allow pedestrians to cross. It was then, he said, that a brown Subaru Outback, driven by a woman, rear ended him and promptly drove away in the direction of the ferry.

The man attempted to follow the other car, but could not locate it.

Upon inspection, police said the man’s 2005 Toyota Avalon did have a large scuff mark on the rear driver’s side bumper, but almost every trace of it came off with a little rubbing.

The man requested a report for insurance purposes.
