Bainbridge blotter | Clearly, there was a lot at stake

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

MONDAY, OCT. 23

2:22 p.m. A 63-year-old Bainbridge Island man told police that a metal survey stake, with yellow plastic cap, had been stolen from the wooded area on the north side of his property. The officer had at the time been retrieving found property nearby, when the man beckoned from his driveway to make the report.

The stake had, he said, been placed there in July. He noticed it was missing a few weeks ago.

The man had no idea who might be responsible.
