Bainbridge blotter | A sucker punch and a soaker

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

THURSDAY, MARCH 29

3:10 a.m. A 24-year-old Bainbridge Island woman was arrested for assault after she reportedly attacked her boyfriend, 30, also of Bainbridge.

Police were called to a domestic dispute between the two when they discovered the assault.

The man said he’d arrived home from work at about 1:30 a.m. and they started to argue “as always.” The couple had been together for a little more than a year, he said, and fought often. That night, he explained, they had been fighting because he believed his girlfriend was cheating on him. When he went into the walk-in closet to change his shirt, the man said, the woman hit him in the left eye.

He then pushed the woman away and went outside to smoke a cigarette.

Afterward, he said, he came back inside to take a shower and they again started to argue and the woman again struck him in the left eye while he was in the shower.

After that punch, the man said, he sprayed his girlfriend with the shower nozzle.

The woman at first denied striking the man, though he had bruises and abrasions where he said she’d hit him. Then, upon further questioning, she admitted to having slapped him after he sprayed her with the shower nozzle, being at last fed up with how badly he’d been treating her.

The woman was arrested.
