Odyssey School Multiage Program offers an alternative educational experience for students in grades one through eight.

An open house, for parents and students is from 6:30-8 p.m. Feb. 23 at Commodore Options Building, 9530 High School Rd.

The free event will provide an overview of Odyssey's mission and core beliefs about the educational experience such as emphasizing a multiage learning environment and high parent involvement.

The self-directed model emphasizes teaching students how to learn while providing them support and opportunities for discovery.

Emphasis is placed on meeting individual student needs at appropriate developmental levels while promoting independent learning. This program is enhanced by commitment from parents to volunteer ten hours per month. The teaching teams focus on a two-year grade span, while planning a continuum of learning through all grades. The students form a school community that emphasizes cross-grade learning and support.
