Traffic lights on State Route 305 at High School Road, Winslow Way and Madison Avenue are out after a power outage Friday afternoon.

Power is out at the police station and several local businesses.

Police said the outage may have been caused by a tree or a branch hitting wires on Northeast Yaquina Avenue.

A spokesperson for Puget Sound Energy said the problem is originating from the Murden Cove substation. Approximately 1,600 customers are without power at this time. The spokesperson said service technicians are evaluating the scene.
