2009 Election | Final results

The County Elections Office has released the official results for the 2009 General Election. As more votes came in this month, initial results for all Bainbridge-related contests held true. The two money measures (EMS levy and school bond) both garnered the 60 percent approval necessary.
The City Council has three new members and Paul Bang-Knudsen will be the newest member of the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Parks and Recreation District.
EMS levy
In favor: 7,630, 73.51 percent
Opposed: 2,749, 26.49 percent
School bond
In favor: 6,844, 61.46 percent
Opposed: 4,291, 38.54 percent
City Council North Ward
Debbie Vancil: 4,751, 48.26 percent
Bob Scales: 5,008, 50.87 percent
City Council South Ward
Kirsten Hytopoulos: 5,156, 51.77 percent
Tim Jacobsen: 4,750, 47.70 percent
City Council Central Ward
Debbi Lester: 5,394, 54.45 percent
Dee DuMont: 4,458, 45.00 percent
Park board
Paul Bang-Knudsen: 4,097, 52.20 percent
Jay C. Kinney: 3,668, 46.74 percent
