The city has extended the comment period on a Mitigated Determination of Non-significance for the Winslow Way reconstruction project for another seven days.

Comments on the project must be submitted no later than 4:00 p.m. on June 9.

The city said they were extending the deadline as a courtesy to notified parties.

The extension follows a MDNS for the project that was issued on May 15. An MDNS determination allows the project to bypass a full review under the State Environmental Policy Act.

Completion of the notice period brings the project closer to its December 2009 contract date, with construction slated to begin in March 2010 and last through November 2010.

Individuals can appeal the MDNS determination by paying $530 and preparing detailed factual objections. All appeals must be received no later than June 16.
