Florian named principal at Woodward Middle School

Mike Florian, an associate principal at Woodward Middle School, has been tabbed to succeed retiring Woodward principal Mary Alice O'Neill, Bainbridge Island School District announced Wednesday.

Florian has worked in the district for 31 years. He became associate principal at Woodward in 2007, after serving as a math teacher at Commodore Options School and later Bainbridge High School.

O'Neill, who has led Woodward for eight years, announced her retirement in April.

Florian will become principal July 1.
