The Kitsap County Coroner's Office has identified the 46-year-old man who died of an apparent cardiac arrest at the Bainbridge ferry terminal Thursday morning as Bryan S. Merrell of Poulsbo.

Bainbridge Fire Department Capt. Greg Borgen said medical crews responded to the terminal passenger loading area at 6:54 a.m. after receiving a report of a man having difficulty breathing. Merrell collapsed shortly after aid arrived.

Borgen said personnel performed CPR for an hour but could not revive him. Merrell had apparently been waiting to board a ferry to Seattle when the episode occurred.
