The U.S. Coast Guard and Washington State Patrol conducted a search for a possible missing person Wednesday night, after a bicycle was found abandoned on a 5:30 p.m. ferry docking at Bainbridge.

The search was suspended at 10:40 p.m., according to a USCG press release.

The bicycle found on the car deck of the Wenatchee was a red, Giant brand 10-speed. No unclaimed personal items were found onboard.

Three 25-foot response boats from Seattle and a helicopter crew from Port Angeles searched roughly 15 miles of water between Bainbridge and Seattle with no result. The search was called off after four hours.

Officials are asking anyone with information regarding the bicycle to call Washington State Ferries at (206) 464-6400 or the Coast Guard Search and Rescue Hotline at (206) 217-6001.
