Bainbridge council reverses its move to Monday

Weekly city council meetings may get moved from Monday to Tuesday evenings.

The Bainbridge Island City Council forwarded a proposed change to the council’s regular meeting day to the July 28 consent agenda.

It is the second day change the council will vote on this year.

The council voted to change its meetings from Wednesdays to Mondays earlier this year to give city staff more time to prepare for council meetings.

The council is now considering changing the meeting day again for similar reasons.

If the amendment to the city’s municipal code is approved on July 28, the council will hold its meetings on the first, second, third and fourth Tuesday of each month.

The change will go into effect Sept. 1.
