Four-vehicle accident on Day Road blocks roadway

A four-vehicle accident shortly before 5 p.m. Thursday has left Day Road blocked just east of the Highway 305 intersection.

The accident appeared to be a chain-reaction crash for drivers waiting on Day Road at the intersection. Three cars and a pickup truck were involved, with one of the cars turned sideways on Day Road shortly after the accident.

Police had not yet arrived on the scene just before 5 p.m., but the drivers of the vehicles appeared unhurt and were standing in the roadway examining the damage to their vehicles.

The accident may slow traffic. Highway 305 was already clogged with commuters and ferry traffic at the time of the accident, and other travelers were moving slowly past the scene on the highway.
