A fallen tree in front of the offices of Fairbanks Construction Company was cleared off of Madison Avenue Monday.

"It was rotted all the way to the ground," said Bainbridge Police Lieutenant Chris Jensen. "With the wind and the rain, it just fell down."

The tree gave way at the base and fell just short of the road. Traffic was reopened by police at about 9:30 a.m. Monday.
