Sen. Christine Rolfes, D-Kitsap County, has been appointed to the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Natural Resources & Infrastructure and Education committees.

“I look forward to joining my colleagues from Washington and state legislatures across the country to discuss challenges and opportunities in education, natural resources and infrastructure,” said Rolfes, a 23rd District lawmaker from Bainbridge Island.

“I am honored to be able to lend a voice from the 23rd District to such fundamentally important issues,” she said.

The National Conference of State Legislatures is an organization that works to enhance the roles of states and state legislatures at the federal level. Including these, there are eight committees that work to develop official policy directives that determine the states’ positions on a range of federal actions.
