Girl hit by vehicle on High School Road

A student was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon in front of Bainbridge High School.

The girl was skateboarding on High School Road in front of the school when she was hit by a van, said Bainbridge Island Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Luke Carpenter.

The fire department was dispatched to the scene at 3:12 p.m.

The girl was transported to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton with non-life threatening injuries.
