Volunteers needed for work party at new Ridge Trail

Volunteers are needed to help the Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District continue construction of the new Ridge Trail at Fort Ward this Saturday.

Park crews hope to open both ends and make the trail usable at the work party on April 27. Volunteers will meet at 10 a.m. in the upper parking lot, and the work party is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Helpers should bring their favorite trail tool, gloves, appropriate clothing (it’s nettle season), and join the fun on the trail. The district will provide an assortment of tools and expertise for the day.
