Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.
Monday, Feb. 18
8:49 a.m. Police received a report of a man attempting to steal money from the toll boxes at the ferry terminal. Officers were unable to locate the suspect.
10:24 a.m. Residents on Ferncliff Avenue reported an unauthorized charge to their credit card. The charge cited the phone number of another island couple off Setting Sun Lane that the Ferncliff residents were acquainted with, but didn’t know well. The charge indicated it was for a charitable donation. The Setting Sun couple told police that this has happened three times before and they do not know why. They told the Ferncliff residents to call the police and report the matter.
2:37 p.m. A home security sign and three white poles marking the edge of a driveway were stolen from a home on Blakely Heights Court.
Tuesday, Feb. 19
6:10 a.m. A New York resident reported that his wallet was lost while staying on the island. When he got home his identity had been used to open multiple accounts at Bank of America, CBNA, Chase and Citibank.
