A Renaissance repast
June 9, 2008 · Updated 6:02 PM
Alan Simcoe, an Island Music Guild board member and musician in the Arundell Consort, prepares to play the lute during the fourth annual Renaissance Feast this past Saturday night at the Bainbridge Commons. Proceeds from the event benefit the guild and the Bainbridge Island Teen Center.
Patrons were served a Renaissance feast of roasted chicken and pork loin with sauerkraut, bashed neeps (mashed turnips), gnossi (floured, cheese dumplings) and marzipan tarts for dessert, complemented by period music and actors in costume.
