Man dies in 80-foot plunge
June 9, 2008 · Updated 5:55 PM
A 48-year-old Kingston man died Sunday of injuries suffered in an 80-foot fall from a tree on Arrow Point Loop.
Police say Ronald Dean Freeman, an employee of a local tree-trimming outfit, was attempting to bring the tree down when he plunged from its upper reaches.
Freeman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with internal injuries and died at the hospital.
The accident was reported at about 11:18 a.m. in the 12000 block of Arrow Point Loop.
It was not immediately clear how Freeman fell from the tree, police said.
Because the death is considered an industrial accident, it is under investigation by the state Department of Labor and Industries.
Investigation of the accident could take weeks, a DLI spokesman said Tuesday
