Neither victim was wearing a seat belt.We are investigating the presence of alcohol, said Police Chief Bill Cooper, who said there was a strong smell on the victim and a dozen or more beer cans in the vehicle. Blood-alcohol level results were not available at press time.Police said Kilton was driving with a suspended license, for failure to appear in court for unpaid traffic tickets. It marked the third fatal accident on Bainbridge Island in the last 10 months. The other two occurred on Highway 305, both when cars went over the center line into oncoming traffic. "
