Police looking for witnesses to car crash at Agate Pass Bridge
The Bainbridge Island Police Department is asking witnesses to Monday's crash at the Agate Pass Bridge to step forward and assist with the investigation.
Two people were hurt in the two-car collision, and both were airlifted off the island for medical care after they were pulled from their vehicles shortly after the accident at 2:09 p.m. Monday, March 4.
Bainbridge police said a witness to the crash said the collision happened after a Kia Sedona van driven by a Bainbridge Island woman hit a Lexus four-door sedan driven by a Bainbridge Island man while the woman was heading south on Highway 305.
Police said the vehicles collided head-on, and the Lexus ended up partially over a guardrail.
Both drivers were critically injured. They have not been identified by police.
Highway 305 was closed in both directions for more than three hours after the crash as police investigated and the accident scene was cleaned up.
Bainbridge police said the cause of the collision remains under investigation. Witnesses to the collision can contact the police department at 206-842-5211.
