City hall accepts credit card payments

February 28, 2013 · 3:53 PM

The city of Bainbridge Island is now processing electronic transactions at city hall.

The city formerly accepted only cash and checks for payments, but the city council approved a plan to accept credit card payments in November.

City hall was equipped to process credit cards last week. Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards are accepted.

Customers will be charged an additional 3 percent convenience fee by the company processing the transactions. A minimum convenience fee of $3 will be assessed for all transactions under $100.
