Museum plans bus tour of state capital

February 21, 2013 · 3:46 PM

The Bainbridge Island Historical Museum is hosting a daylong bus tour to Olympia in March.

The trip to see Washington state government in action will be led by former Secretary of State Ralph Munro. Descended from the pioneer Munro family, he was raised on Bainbridge and served in Olympia for 20 years.

Participants will tour the state capitol building, the governor’s mansion, visit memorials and meet with judges, legislators and state officials. Lunch will be served in the Temple of Justice-Chiefs Conference Room overlooking Budd Inlet.

A comfortable motor coach, lunch, a fascinating history of the workings of state government and a very experienced guide will all be included in the ticket.

The tour is Wednesday, March 6; the group will leave at 7:45 a.m. and return at approximately 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $110 and may be purchased by calling 842-2773 or by visiting the Bainbridge museum between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
