Bainbridge police to collect unwanted firearms

February 14, 2013 · 4:04 PM

The Bainbridge Island Police Department will collect unwanted firearms and ammunition next month.

Free gun locks will also be available for securing weapons.

“For those who want assurance that unwanted guns will not find their way back onto the street, we’ve set aside two days for you to bring firearms and ammunition to the Police Station for destruction,” said Interim Public Safety Director Larry Dickerson.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, March 11 and from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12 at the Bainbridge Island Police Department, 625 Winslow Way East.

For more information, contact the police department at 206-842-5211.
