Both lacrosse teams fall in title bouts

Issaquah beats Bainbridge while Lakeside downs Spartans in heartbreaker. SEATTLE CENTER - Both Bainbridge lacrosse teams had the lead at certain points of the game, but its opponents were too much in the end.

The boys lacrosse team fell to Issaquah 11-8 while the girls lacrosse team fell 9-8 to Lakeside.

It's the first in-state loss for the boys since 2006 while the girls were beaten by Lakeside for the third straight year in the championship game.

In the boys' game, the Spartans had a 6-3 lead early in the third quarter, but the Eagles went on a 6-0 run between the third and the fourth quarter to put the game away.

In the girls game, Bainbridge had a 4-3 lead before Lakeside went on a run to take a three-goal lead.

The Spartans made a quick run near the end, but it wasn't enough.
