The Rossland Warriors will host the second annual Molson Cup from Jan. 19 to 21, bringing in teams from Trail, Jackson Hole, and Powell River.

Powell River also brings with them the pride of being the 2006 Allan Cup Champions, making the tournament even more interesting.

Trail won the tournament last year, and this year Rossland is hoping to take home the Molson Cup.

“We should fair pretty good. We have a pretty good hockey team, with a few guys from the Trail Smoke Eaters team of last year,” Jody Bradford, general manager of the Warriors said.

Rossland is currently 4-2 on the season.

The tournament will also help raise the exposure of the Rossland Warriors and hopefully bring some more fans out to their games.

After the Molson Cup tournament, Trail will begin preparing for their quest for the Allan Cup. Trail has won the Allan Cup twice in it’s history, the last time in 1966.

Rossland on the other hand will begin preparations to win the Coy Cup.
