The Review's "Images of Ometepe" photo exhibit premiers
June 9, 2008 · Updated 2:40 PM
From organic coffee farms to raging bulls, Review reporter Tristan Baurick captured many colorful images when he put down his pen and picked up a camera during a 2005 assignment to the island of Ometepe in Nicaragua.
Now his photographs of Bainbridges sister island are featured in a month-long photo show and fundraiser at Mora Iced Creamery in downtown Winslow.
The Review will donate all proceeds from the sale of the exhibits framed prints to the Bainbridge-Ometepe Sister Islands Association.
Much of Bauricks reporting and photographs focused on BOSIAs efforts to develop a clean water system, boost literacy rates, improve health care, build schools and develop markets for organic coffee farmers.
Call Mora at 855-8822 for hours of operation or the Review at 842-6613 to purchase photos.
