Bainbridge overcomes penalties to defeat Bremerton

Defense, special teams contribute to win. BREMERTON - The Bainbridge football team overcame numerous penalties to defeat the Bremerton Knights 50-22 Friday night at Bremerton Memorial Stadium.

The Spartans had several long touchdown runs called back for penalties in the contest.

James Herman ran a fumble back 46 yards for a score and Max Olson ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Ross Cobb scored three times in the game and Dayton Gilbreath broke off an impressive 85-yard touchdown run to open the second half when he broke several tackles after Bainbridge was pushed back 20 yards for two holding calls.

The Spartans travel to West Seattle to play Chief Sealth next Friday.
