A touchdown run by Mike Bush seals it in the end.
The Bainbridge football team had their chances, but couldn't overcome a strong night by Eastside Catholic running back Mike Bush, losing 22-16 Friday night at Memorial Stadium in a battle of ranked teams.
The junior scored from 16 yards out to put the Crusaders up for good.
The Spartans kept Eastside Catholic wide receiver Vince Taylor from lighting up the scoreboard, but he ran a kickoff back 85 yards for a score in the second quarter.
It came after Dayton Gilbreath scored from six yards out to put Bainbridge on the board after being shut out in the first quarter.
The Spartans came back as Wagner scored on a one-yard plunge with less than a minute remaining in the first half to close the gap to one.
But a penalty pushed Bainbridge back on the point after attempt, and Colin Feldtman's kick was wide.
After a scoreless third quarter, Feldtman kicked a 29-yard field goal to help the Spartans regain the lead.
But Bush did the majority of the work on the next drive for Eastside Catholic, breaking several tackles to score with 5:43 left in the game.
Quarterback Chris Traynor connected with Nick Tengtio on the two-point conversion to seal the deal.
Bainbridge (0-1, 3-1) plays O'Dea next week at West Seattle Stadium.
Game time is at 7 p.m.
