Bainbridge Island Deputy Chief of Police Mark Duncan was not injured when his car was struck during a multi-car accident at the intersection of Highway 305 and Totten Road near Poulsbo Thursday morning.

According to Lieutenant Ken Noland of the Washington State Patrol, the vehicle traveling in front of Duncan crossed the highway's center line and hit an oncoming vehicle, which lost control and spun into Duncan's unmarked car.

The driver of the causing vehicle sustained minor leg injuries but no one else was hurt, Noland said.

The accident, reported at 9:12 a.m., slowed traffic but did not close the highway.

Duncan was in his office Thursday morning following the crash but said he could not give further details.
